BIOGRAPHY
Johnny’s Landing are an indie-band from The Hague, Holland, made up of Dominique van Dijkhuizen (vocals, guitar), Jimmy van Dijk (bass) and Taco Fens (drums).
Although it would be a difficult task to pin down this versatile trio’s sound, Johnny’s Landing list contemporary influences like Andrew Bird and Patrick Watson with icons such as Patti Smith and Nina Simone.
Since November 2006, the band have built up an impressive gig list that contains bookings at venues such as Paradiso, Heineken Music Hall, Paard van Troje, Ekko and Speakers. The performances included several occasions where the band opened for internationally acclaimed acts such as Patrick Watson, Five O’Clock Heroes, 1990s, Razorlight and The Tellers.
Johnny’s Landing played at The Music In My Head Festival as well as Crossing Border Festival. Their show at the latter festival went accompanied by a feature in Vrij Nederland Magazine. The band were nominated as Local Hero by LiveXS Magazine. Also, the band were invited to play a few shows by the Rock ‘n’ Roll High School organisation.
The band’s song “In the End” was featured in Kees van Dijkhuizen’s Cinema 2008 video compilation, which received over 100.000 hits. Check it out here.
